Breaking Silence: Bullying, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault in Workplaces and Campuses
Dec 5 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

The statistics are startling. For example, estimates of domestic violence range from 960,000 incidents to upwards of four million incidents annually. The incidence of sexual harassment among undergraduate students by their peers ranges between 20% and 80% each year. One in four women are survivors of rape. Comments made in the recent election season may contribute to survivors of workplace and campus silencing themselves out of fear of retaliation from coming forth identifying their abuse.

Please join us on Monday, December 5 at 2 pm, where leading scholars, attorneys and consultants will address workplace and campus sexual assault, bullying and sexual harassment.

The following issues will be addressed:

  • Incidence rates of campus and workplace sexual violence
  • Recent case law
  • Policies
  • Investigatory Procedures
  • Training Programs for Men Who Engage in Sexual Violence
  • Students’ Definitions of Sexual Violence

Panelists include:

  • Dr. Michele Paludi, Moderator, Excelsior College
  • Dr. Jennifer Martin, University of Mount Union
  • Wendy Murphy, JD, New England Law, Boston
  • Dr. William Schweinle, University of South Dakota
  • Kendra Hoppie, Eastfield College
